A one-day course where practical strategies for teaching grammar through text will be explored.

This course will –

  • cover, in detail, the contents of the Grammar programme of study (Appendix 2)
  • strengthen teacher subject knowledge of grammar and related grammatical terminology
  • ensure teachers understand the progression of grammar and spelling within National Curriculum 2014
  • model how grammar (and spelling) can be applied within purposeful writing
  • demonstrate a variety of engaging activities that can be applied to planning

Participants will receive –

  • two high quality children’s books
  • two teaching sequences that support the teaching of grammar and spelling through text in a Literacy Tree tote bag
  • all training resources electronically
  • lunch and refreshments
